Momentum is not comfort. Momentum is not pause.

In his fourth and most unrelenting collection yet, Brodie Finegan Forbes propels us through the gravity of thought, feeling, and consequence. Untitled the IV is about motion, about the force that drives us even when the world collapses around us.

These poems surge with energy, urgency, and relentless scrutiny of the self. They are meditations on desire, excellence, regret, defiance, love, and the raw edges of human experience. Each line pulses with the velocity of thought and emotion made tangible, each poem a testament to the continuous, uncompromising force of existence.

From the intimate reckonings of Devotion Adrift and Slow Mercy, to the shattering introspection of Relapse, unedited and A Hidden Humanity, to the stark, elemental truths of Terminal Lucidity and The Cost of Neglect, every poem drives forward with momentum that refuses to stop.

It is poetry to push you, to confront you, to keep you on edge.

It is poetry to propel you, to challenge you, to carry you forward.

Read it when you are ready to meet the relentless.

Read it when you are ready to feel with everything you are.

Untitled the IV

For the Animals

I write a great deal about what it means to be human.

Perhaps part of being human is deciding what we do with what we have.

From every book purchased directly through this website, 50% of the profit is donated to the RSPCA, helping animals who have been abandoned, neglected, mistreated, or simply left without somewhere safe to go.

There is no grand philosophy behind it.

I have spent much of my life writing about suffering, survival, love, fear, cruelty, redemption, and the strange responsibility that comes with being alive. Eventually, words have to become something more than words.

Success has never interested me simply for the sake of having more.

Animals ask very little of us. They do not care who we are, what we have achieved, what we own, or whether anybody knows our name. So this is one small way that I can make the work mean something beyond the page.

You buy a book.
You support an independent writer.
And somewhere beyond the page, something good comes from it.

That is enough philosophy for me.
