Untitled the V
In his fifth and most organic collection, Brodie Finegan Forbes turns inward and outward at once, dissolving the boundary between life and language. Untitled the V is not about becoming, nor momentum, nor consequence. It is about being, raw, immediate, and unfiltered.
These poems do not chase. They do not plead. They do not perform.
They observe, they confront, they exist.
Moving between stillness and intensity, clarity and contradiction, this collection explores identity, awareness, loneliness, truth, ego, love, and the quiet violence of simply being alive. Each line stands as it is unadorned, undeniable. Each poem a moment captured without distortion.
From the haunting self-recognition of The Man in the Distance and Almost Believing, to the philosophical weight of In the shape of what arrives... and Constancy, to the sharp confrontations of Arseholes and A Waste, every piece reflects a mind no longer searching for answers, but standing within them.
It is poetry that does not ask for understanding.
It is poetry that meets you where you are.
Read it slowly.
Read it when the noise fades.
Read it when you are willing to face what is already there.
